Qatari Company in Sudan to Export Meat to Malaysia
Khartoum - A Qatari company investing in the livestock fields in Sudan declared that in a few weeks it will sign agreements with Malaysian companies to export refrigerated meat and one hundred thousand heads of livestock in 3 years. The company also declared it will establish a globally recognized standard of slaughterhouses in Khartoum.
Dr. Sami Balla Ibrahim, executive manager of Widam Foods –formerly the Qatari Company for Meat and Livestock Trade, said an agreement will be signed next week in Sudan with the Malaysian company "Halal Capital" for the export of refrigerated meats to Malaysia.
Speaking to the reporter, he added that another agreement will be signed with the Malaysian company "Creative Oscar" within the next few weeks in Malaysia as part of the Widam's future expansion plans. He went on to say that the agreement stipulates that Widam buys 3 thousand heads of livestock on a monthly basis over three years for export.
These agreements to be signed, he added, are among the company's plans to put in place new projects and create smart partnerships in field of realizing food security and producing meats and food products.
He also revealed that the Khartoum International Slaughterhouse will be completed soon and will meet global standards of quality, in order to support the meat manufacturing industry as well as poultry and fodder production industries. This will also be done through entering into integrated partnerships to increase and promote Sudanese exports.
