I arrived Sudanese woman had obtained a pardon from the death penalty for converts from Islam to Christianity at the airport in Rome on Thursday morning on a plane to the Italian Government.
The woman had been prevented from leaving Sudan.
Italian television showed Mary Yahya Ibrahim, 27, as she left the plane at Rome's Ciampino airport, accompanied by her family and Apollo Bastyli Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Italy.
