Sudan Holds First Workshop on Genetically-modified Cotton

Khartoum – The General Directorate for Technology Transfer, in collaboration with the Agricultural Research Department organized a training workshop on genetically-modified cotton at the Sudanese-Chinese Centre in Gedarif State. Twenty five agricultural guides from across Sudan attended the workshop to discuss cultivation of the genetically-modified cotton in the White Nile, Sinnar, Gedarif and Kassala.
Eng. Izzeldine Hassan, Director General of the Directorate of Technology Transfer underlined the need for cotton technology to increase production.
The workshop discussed a range of papers presented by experts and researchers in the field of genetically-modified cotton.
